Super Easy Sunglasses Holder

Hey Everyone!!! I'm so glad to be back!!!
This past year I encountered many, many challenges in my life and just had to take a step back from crafting/creating things for a bit.  Haha ok longer than "a bit" but I'm so glad you stuck around and I hope that you are ready for some exciting new things!! I know I am!!!

Caution: This post is SUPER awesome and packed full of the word SUPER!!
First off I have a super quick, cheap, and easy project to keep your sunglasses organized and in plain sight!!!  Or in my case, my super cute and always adorable assistants sunglasses! I swear this little diva has more sunglasses than cute outfits to match!!  Oh and in case you were wondering I'm just slightly biased to the fact that she is the cutest little girl you have ever seen because I'm lucky enough to call her mine!! She's often referred to as my "Sweet P

Here's a quick snap from her crashing my photo shoot while trying to snap some pictures of the supplies needed.  This is a new trend she is starting for the "cool" way to wear your shades!!  First apply shades upside down so that they link under your ears instead of on top, then simply let them fall into place under your chin.  The final result will look like a sunglasses necklace! hahaha just kidding, but seriously this is the way she always puts on her sunglasses!
Ok so here is the SUPER Easy tutorial.  So sit back, take a few notes if needed and don't be afraid to ask questions, I am always here and happy to help!!

First, assemble your supplies.  You will need: a 8x10 picture frame with glass and backing, some scrap fabric, and lots of super cute sunglasses. All the sunglasses in this tutorial were bought at Target!! One of my favorite Stores! The two on the left in the picture below came from the baby and toddler section and the two on the right came from the dollar section!! I love that they keep the dollar section right up front because its my favorite place to shop when I go!!
(hahaha I have to show you how my "assistant" thought she would help me by rearranging the supplies.  Notice the cute little hand sneaking into the shot.  Hahaha she always makes me laugh with the things she does.)
Ok so once you decide which fabric scrap to use, iron it out flat and place on the glass from the frame leaving a long tail on one end. (sorry this is my first tutorial and I forgot to take a picture of these next steps) Next fold up the tail to create a deep pocket.  I wanted to match the flowers in my fabric so I folded it in the middle of the flowers and matched it to the fabric already on the glass.  By doing this the pocket started about 2 inches down from the top of the glass.
Then fold over all the extra fabric on the back side of the glass.  Place back in frame with the super cool new pocket showing on the front side of the frame.  Then put the backing back on the backside of the frame and fold over the tabs that keep it in place.
Then finally arrange the super cute sunglasses so that they hang on the pocket you just created!!!

If you noticed the frame I used once had a cherry stain finish.  I stole the frame from the decor on my fireplace mantel.  In its previous "decor life"  I found it at goodwill, gave a it a quick white wash, and I mean SUPER Quick white wash.  Haha I was desperate to create something and didn't have the patience to spend tons of time on something, but I love the way it turned out.  Then I just placed some cute chevron fabric inside the frame and placed it on my mantel.  You can see in the supplies picture above what it used to look like on my mantel.  Just another SUPER  easy, quick, cute and simple accessory you can add to your home.  Hey looky there two tutorials in one!! Lucky you and Lucky me re-purposing things around my house and saving money!!
So are you still here? I know that was a ton to read!!!! haha I'm a skimmer not a reader!  But seriously this project is super easy hopefully you just saved that note paper I told you to get earlier and can now use it for some doodling!! Especially if you are like my super talented sister!! This girl has got some amazing skills!!  Maybe one day I can see if she will put together a tutorial for her beautiful letter doodling!! Hint Hint Jenna!! Hahaha and mainly so I can learn some skills!!  Check out the envelope that came with a cute card all about how I am her favorite sister!! Haha well I better be, I am her only sister!! :)
Stay tuned for more awesome and exciting things to come from StradMuffin!! See you soon!!!
